Take charge of your painting materials with this comprehensive look at brushes, oil paint mediums and painting surfaces.

  • a variety of brush shapes and types – both synthetic and natural – to help you choose the right brush for each technique.  You’ll see how different brush shapes and bristles affect the types of marks that you can make .  As well, you’ll learn about the relationship between paint consistency and bristle type.
  • the benefits and drawbacks of several different painting surfaces.  You’ll see how a surface affects the marks that you make and learn how to choose, or make, the right surface for your painting style.  Ingrid will demonstrate using canvas, linen, wood and aluminum.

Ingrid is enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the technical aspects of oil painting and enjoys answering your questions.  You’ll be invited to ask questions throughout the demonstration.
