Aimee Erickson – Head Studies from Photo Reference (Online Class Recording)

Aimee Erickson will walk us through a classic method of describing form using solid shadow shapes, a simple color structure and modeling only in the light. This is one of those things you could do five hundred times and still learn something from it.

Aimee Erickson is an oil painter living in Portland, Oregon. She was trained as an illustrator and holds a BFA in Visual Communication Design. She has studied with a number of prominent painters including Sherrie McGraw, David Leffel, Burton  Silverman, Joseph Paquet, William Park, Stephen Hayes and Ray Roberts. Aimee teaches studio and plein-air painting, drawing and color theory locally and at venues nationwide.Her work has been awarded top prizes in many national competitions, including Oil Painters of America, American Women Artists, the Portrait Society of America, and multiple notable plein air competitions, and most recently at Plein Air Easton. www.aimeeerickson.com

About Our Past Technique Takeaways:

Discover specific art techniques that you can ‘take away’ from some of your favorite artists and apply to your own work. This one-and-a-half hour recorded presentation will showcase a process that the artist incorporates in their daily art practice.  Instruction will be through a combination of lecture and demonstration. 

You’ll be able to watch the recording as many times as you would like for two months (for example, for a purchase on March 4th at noon, the recording would be available until May 4th at noon).
