Using gouache, painting in a small sketchbook, @13brokenhorses, will simplify a composition removing unnecessary visual noise to help demonstrate the important parts of an image. Stressing shape, value, and colour temperature.

The small sketchbook painting can be used as the preliminary study for a larger painting. @13brokehorses will be working from landscape photo reference.

  • Express Register for the Autumn ART IN ACTION Festival or any individual festival event to access all live-over-Zoom events and recordings afterwards.
  • There’ll be one Zoom link for the entire festival so you can join any time.
  • You’ll receive an email each day of the festival with the line up for the day, the Zoom link (same link all day every day) and a link to the festival page for the recordings.
  • Recordings will be posted within 24 hours after the event. 
  • Festival recordings never expire, they become part of our Free Recordings Library about a month after the end of the festival.
