Yana Beylinson – Resolving a Painting: Breaking through the Barrier
Date Recorded: Thursday, April 13, 2023
Very often we start a painting with great enthusiasm, whether it’s from observation or photography. We continue, and then hit a block. The elements are all there, but they are just not working well together. This is always a point of great frustration, but breaking through this barrier makes you a much better painter. Finding tools to experiment, to find solutions, in the words of Steve Jobs to “think different.”
In this one-hour demo presentation, Yana Beylinson will discuss different opportunities for breaking through, whether it is by using mirrors, turning the painting upside down, using photoshop, or inviting extreme experimentation directly on the paintings.
