Very often we start a painting with great enthusiasm, whether it’s from observation or photography. We continue, and then hit a block. The elements are all there, but they are just not working well together. This is always a point of great frustration, but breaking through this barrier makes you a much better painter. Finding tools to experiment, to find solutions, in the words of Steve Jobs to “think different.”
In this one-hour demo presentation, Yana Beylinson will discuss different opportunities for breaking through, whether it is by using mirrors, turning the painting upside down, using photoshop, or inviting extreme experimentation directly on the paintings.
Yana Beylinson is a professional painter who has exhibited in LA Art Show, 2023, Wausau Museum of Contemporary Art, Cape Cod Museum of Art. Her current solo show “Synesthesia” is on view at Abend Gallery, Denver, CO. Beylinson’s work has won a number of awards, and is in private collections internationally. As a part of her extensive practice, she has worked on large-scale installations in Hong Kong and China. Having studied at the New York Academy of Art and the School of Visual Arts, Beylinson expanded her knowledge through extensive travel and study of art history. www.yanabeylinsonartist.com
