While studying sumi painting, I noticed that flowers and plants have gestures, much like the human body. Artists often explore gestures through drawing or by using paints with different thicknesses. In this workshop, I’ll introduce a new method: creating floral images using gestural mark-making with a gelli plate.
Monday, July 28 – 10:00 am Pacific/1:00 pm Eastern/6:00 pm UK timeWayne will show you how to create a floral painting using transparent acrylic glazes in about an hour. Taking advantage of acrylic’s fast-drying time, this multiple layering acrylic technique is an efficient way to create paintings with vibrant, translucent colors, and fine details in a short time.
