Multi-petalled flowers can be tricky to paint.  They’re filled with color and value changes, and can contain an overwhelming number of petals in different shapes, sizes, and orientations. 

This demo will show you how to identify and eliminate all of the unnecessary information of a multi-petalled flower.  You’ll learn to look past complexity to the essential forms and colors of the flower, and to suggest its many details in the most economical way.  

Ingrid’s demo will be in oils but the concepts she covers will apply to floral painters working in any medium.

Ingrid Christensen is an award winning painter and instructor who specializes in figurative and still life oil painting. Influenced by French and Russian Impressionism, her work is an exploration of light, color and dynamic mark making.  A self-proclaimed “paint nerd”, Ingrid has written and featured in Winsor & Newton Masterclass videos, contributed articles to Artsy Magazine, and taught sold-out workshops in Canada and Mexico.
