I learned so much, thanks for sharing this technique!
Thank you, Linda! Your car turned out great and I love the watercolor/ink shading! So glad you were working along with me and found it helpful 🙂
Brilliant session Kato, thank you – I was genuinely surprised at how quickly the car took shape. Look forward to a follow up session! Found the wheel really tricky, which I thought would be easy!!
Thank you, Jane! Love your car, it turned out great! So happy you were drawing along with me! xx
I had never heard of a formal “gray scale” before. I made one with 16 evenly spaced shades of gray that can be printed. I never heard of a “kneaded eraser” or knew why there are so many kinds of drawing pencils before and the principle that to make darker, use softer pencil, not more pressure, always draw lightly. I was able to follow along. Five stars, There is even room for a sequel. Why not label the columns with letters and numbers to avoid getting them mixed up?
Thank you, Red! That is an excellent grey scale! I challenge you to draw one in pencil and match it as close as you can, but you probably will need a range of pencils to do it. A lot of people use letters and numbers and label each square A-1, B-3 etc, but I like to look at the cross hairs and work out from each intersection. I could definitely label one axis with letters and one with numbers to avoid confusion. Good idea!
Awesome demo Kato!
Thank you Cheryl! That’s awesome! Love it, especially the custom plate!
