Thank you, Zoë! Great slide show as always! As a fellow former kindergarten teacher, I have to say that this reminded me of the children’s book A House is a House for Me. A cup is a vessel for tea! A shoe is a vessel for a foot! I am a vessel for me! Haha! Here’s a little gouache sketch inspired by your presentation.

I loved this, Zoe. Thank you, especially because I’m also currently working with vessel shapes and this presentation gave me lots of food for thought and further research. I have a collection of vessels, my own and my mothers, that I will be using for a new series. When my mom was teaching, back in the 40’s and 50’s, she received dozens of tiny vases from students, most from the dime store. Most have disappeared but I still have a few, with tiny paper scraps inside with the name of the student. Such treasures that I’m only now understanding.
