In this workshop, we will explore together how to find the geometric elements within a landscape photograph. Then I will demonstrate the entire process, first with a pencil and then with paint, from the initial drawing to the finished painting.
To guide you through this exploration, I will explain how to create different kinds of color palettes: vivid and high-contrast, harmonious, or using more muted tones. You will be invited to complete exercises, and I will give you advice and practical tools to help you develop and improve your practice.
The final aspect I would like to explore is expression through gesture and texture. Throughout the workshop, please don’t hesitate to ask questions – I will be happy to answer them.

Edwige Fouvry was born in Nantes, France and lives and works in Brussels, Belgium. She received her master’s degree from the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Visuels de la Cambre, Brussels. She has exhibited widely across Europe and North America
Edwige’s paintings and drawings describe not the actual world but rather vibrant, magical, and sometimes cryptic interior realms. They are the product of her imagination and an intuitive merging of numerous sources, including childhood memories, photographs, and fleeting moments, feelings, and moods. Her landscapes, both with and without people, are rich, psychological terrains, often water-logged and overrun with flora and fauna. She is represented by Dolby Chadwick Gallery in San Francisco.
