In this demonstration, Yana Beylinson will walk you through her process of building an image through collage. Using a photo reference as a general starting point, Yana will show how to distill the subject down to its most essential shapes and values, simplifying, editing, and reimaginingĀ it into a fresh and expressive composition.
Collage, in this approach, becomes anĀ invitation to play: a way to break free from literal translation and discover unexpected solutions. She will discuss how she selects and prepares a reference image, and how she assembles the final collage.
Finally, Yana will show how the completed collage can serve as a powerful springboard for a new painting!
$40 for one year access
