Artist and instructor Scott Gellatly will discuss and demonstrate his artistic process of working from plein air studies, to compositional refinement through Notan studies, to his color-driven studio paintings.
$40 for one year
Scott Gellatly holds a degree in painting and drawing from the University of Oregon and has exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States. A landscape painter at heart, Scott’s work has become more abstracted, with greater emphasis on pure color and gestural mark-making to evoke nature. Scott is an Oregon native and lives in Portland with his family.
About Our Past Technique Takeaways:
Discover specific art techniques that you can ‘take away’ from some of your favorite artists and apply to your own work. This one-and-a-half hour recorded presentation will showcase a process that the artist incorporates in their art practice. Instruction will be through a combination of lecture and demonstration.
