Collage is an inherently playful and forgiving tool for learning about composition. In this two-part workshop we practice combining form and color using cut paper. This allows us to concentrate on scale, form, pattern, line, repetition and space in a flexible way – moving elements around at will without committing them to paint. Insights gained from allowing yourself the freedom to experiment with paper elements contribute directly to your painting skill base. Class includes slideshow presentations, instructor demos, prompts, discussion, Q & A, and, on day two, a look at work posted on our class page to review the results of our efforts.
