Join award-winning artist and instructor Sarah B Hansen in this two-part online class, where we’ll move beyond realistic interpretation and explore how to paint the feeling and energy of the landscape rather than just the facts. Through guided demonstrations, you’ll learn how to simplify complex scenes, design strong value patterns, loosen your brushwork, and use color as a powerful emotional tool.
Instead of focusing on detail and accuracy, we’ll emphasize movement, mood, and personal expression. Between sessions, you’ll complete small studies designed to help you experiment and push your work further. When we return the following week, we’ll build on those discoveries and develop a more confident, expressive approach to acrylic landscape painting.
This class is ideal for painters who feel stuck in tight realism and are ready to paint with more freedom, energy, and voice.
Some experience in drawing and painting is helpful. Demonstrations in acrylic.
