This class takes on the fun and challenge of doing an alla prima self portrait. We will focus on getting the larger planes of the head and keying the color of the light and skin tones.  Instruction will include demo, lectures and critiques.  

JaFang Lu earned her BA degree from the City College of New York University.  She studied under the portrait painter Nelson Shanks at the Art Students League of New York and Studio Incamminati, an atelier founded by Mr. Shanks, where JaFang currently teaches.  In addition to teaching at local art institutions in and around Philadelphia PA, JaFang also conducts drawing and painting workshops around the country.  She currently lives and maintains a studio in the suburb of Philadelphia PA.  She has shown locally with the Avery Gallery and Stanek Gallery.
