This workshop explores two essential and expressive elements of landscape painting: the sky and the sea. Together, they offer endless possibilities for studying light, movement, and atmosphere.
The workshop begins with an overview of how artists throughout art history have approached painting skies and water. Participants will look at techniques used by the Old Masters to convey light, reflection, and the forces of nature, and how those ideas can inform contemporary painting.
Using photographic references provided by Edwige, participants will study the movement of waves and the structure of skies to better understand rhythm and flow. These observations will support the development of strong compositions and help establish the underlying structure of each painting.
The instructor will demonstrate how to develop a rich palette and apply paint with confident, expressive gestures to bring energy and depth to the work.
Throughout the workshop, participants will complete focused exercises, with regular feedback and review to support learning and growth.
