I wanted to point out, for those of your listeners who can’t afford Photoshop, that The Gimp is free (https://www.gimp.org/) and it provides most of Photoshop’s functionality. It will do the trick for you if you don’t need Photoshop’s most sophisticated capabilities. It has the Threshold tool you describe. It’s a safe tool without malware and without privacy issues. I started using it back in the aughts when I was designing the user interface at a software company and they wouldn’t spring for Photoshop, and it’s so useful I haven’t bought a Photoshop license since.
