This two-part workshop covers alternate paint application techniques many abstract painters use to create texture and depth in their work. It is designed especially for those wishing to incorporate abstract elements into their representational paintings.
We’ll explore additive and subtractive processes using of variety of tools and techniques; printmaking brayers, paint spreaders, putty knives, worn-out brushes, and drawing tools. Instructor demos include mixing and layering color, mono-print transfer, sgraffitto, dry bush application and veiling. Each session begins with a slideshow of inspirational contemporary art followed by instructor demos and class discussion.
