Leaving the messiness of paint behind us for a moment, this two-part workshop focuses on core principles of non-objective abstraction using basic materials and processes. We’ll explore line drawing, positive and negative shape, erasure, pattern, scale, overlapping marks, clustering form, and the role of space in composition. Materials include crayon, charcoal, graphite and ink. Practicing abstract drawing allows us to gain a fresh perspective on some simple principles of art. Plus, it’s a fun change of pace!
