Immerse yourself in a world of color as we embark on a journey of painting flowers from photo references. In this January workshop, we’ll harness the warmth of summer, infusing our canvases with the energy of sun-soaked florals and leaves.
Drawing upon her extensive experience, Yana Beylinson will lead participants through stages of painting, ranging from structured techniques to those allowing room for personal interpretation and creative play.
This workshop will focus on the alla prima style, creating both form and volume.
Throughout the workshop, Yana will demonstrate her process, encouraging students to observe and then actively participate. Guidance and insightful discussions will cover essential aspects such as color mixing, pigment and solvent selection, and selecting the right brushes. Demonstrations will cover impasto techniques, ensuring a textured richness, as well as techniques for creating a compelling sense of space and movement within your work.
You can use your own photographs. Alternatively, flower photo references will be provided for you.
