You will never see colors the same way after this class! Learn simple and logical ways to mix and create color combinations in your paintings that are just right.

The slideshow presentations and painting demos will help you harmonize colors in a more logical and simplified way. Along the way we’ll expand your color ranges in previously unexplored territories.

 In this 5 week class, you’ll learn how to:

  • Create color studies to explore color combination possibilities before starting the painting;
  • Express different emotions with different color combinations;
  • Balance muted and saturated colors to match your sensibilities;
  • Apply color recipes from your favorite artists or art style to your own paintings.

Wayne will do all the painting demos in acrylic. You can work with any medium of your choice in this class.

Wayne Jiang is a Portland-based realist acrylic painter. Combining the aesthetic of 17th century Baroque paintings and the composition of modern documentary photography, his works have been described as the contemporary interpretations of Vermeer and Hopper. His work has been widely exhibited in museums and galleries such as the Morris Graves Museum of Art, Triton Museum, Lan Su Chinese Garden, History San José, and Guardino Gallery. As an art educator, Wayne specializes in teaching acrylic painting both in person and online. He has 3 decades of experience working with acrylic and 13 years teaching the medium. His students are artists with diverse skill levels: from someone who has never painted to professional artists who want to refine their acrylic technique or learn a new medium. Wayne’s deep interest in art history is incorporated in both his paintings and how he teaches. www.waynejiang.com
