Use sketches both in the field and in the studio as a preliminary study of values, design and color scheme. Keeping a sketchbook and regular sketching practice is important for artists of all levels, especially beginners.

Thomas Bucci will share his sketching experience of over 40 years.

This class will include fundamental drawing techniques and composition principles to develop ideas for finished paintings in any medium.

You’ll learn about:

  • Using lines & tones to construct drawings
  • Materials and methods for sketching.
  • Building up a drawing dealing with perspective, scale and values
  • The portability and the minimal equipment required for painting in watercolor.
  • How to select locations and choose subjects

Thomas Bucci is an award-winning watercolorist with a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design and a Masters of Architecture.
