Traveling and painting on location is a true gift, the colors feel more vibrant, the light more fleeting, and every sketch becomes a living memory. But what happens when you return home? How do you hold onto that sense of discovery and continue the creative momentum sparked by your journey?
Join Susan Greenstein for a two-week workshop designed to help you reconnect with your travel experiences through painting. Using photographs, sketches, and studies created during your trip, you will transform your impressions into finished works that go beyond documentation. This workshop invites you to delve deeper, exploring not only what you saw, but what you felt. Through guided exercises, demonstrations, and individualized feedback, Susan will help you translate atmosphere, rhythm, pattern, and light into compelling compositions.
Participants will revisit their travel imagery with fresh eyes, learning how to edit, simplify, and strengthen their work in the studio. Emphasis will be placed on composition, color relationships, and capturing the emotional resonance of a place. Whether your travels took you across the globe or just a few towns away, this workshop will help you rediscover the inspiration within your own experiences.
By the end of the two weeks, you will have developed new paintings rooted in memory and observation, works that carry the essence of your journey while reflecting artistic growth. Keep the spirit of travel alive, extend the life of your sketchbook, and allow your adventures to continue unfolding on paper long after you’ve unpacked your bags.
