In this two-day workshop, award-winning artist Sarah B. Hansen will teach techniques in painting impressionistic landscapes en plein air, alla prima, using gouache on panel. Guidance will be given in selecting and packing supplies, as well as how to set up on location. Demonstrations will show processes in selecting where and what to paint, how to simplify a scene, what to eliminate and what to include in a painting, and how to go about it. Draw and paint directly from nature. Roughly two paintings, plus demonstrations and studies. Beginner through intermediate. Some experience in drawing is helpful.
