Learn the essentials of still life painting in oil in this four week class!

Lectures will cover the history of the still life in Western art and use this as inspiration for the selection of a motif and the design of the image. Sara’s teaching style is highly individualized and responsive to individual development in the class. Students will learn the fundamentals of oil painting and be introduced to different textural tools, including the palette knife. Thought the manipulation of edges, choice in value relationships, and development of texture, students will create a dynamic, fresh, and personal still life.
