Explore the light and color palette of winter scenes as you paint subjects including snowy mountains, melting creeks and rural landscapes. Learn to simplify complex subjects and capture the essence of your subject through honing in on what is important to you. Practice developing your composition from a thumbnail sketch, value study and mixing harmonious color palettes from beautiful transparent watercolors. Inspiration will be gained by viewing the work of classical and contemporary artists, watching demonstrations and engaging in lively, supportive critiques.
