Learn how to get the most out of your color by using value structure with artist Rose Irelan. Rose will take you through her process of relating color notes to values in order to organize your palette, make a plan for your painting and learn how to effectively mix and use color. It all begins with value – truly the “Holy Grail” of painting. Through exercises and practical application of this method, you will see how to bring structure and power into your paintings and lose the chaos, achieving a sense of light and form in your subject. This hands-on class will provide weekly exercises for fine-tuning your sense of value, build muscle memory and bring the excitement back into your paintings.
Acrylic, gouache painters, oil painters, and pastel artists will benefit from this class. Rose will demonstrate in Gouache. Rose will provide photo references for inspiration or students can bring their own inspiration as it is the concepts and practicing them that is key.
