Learn the power of mindfully selecting and designing with color. We will explore how using the principles of color theory transforms your work, bringing harmony to your color mixes. Working with limited palettes with a variety of color arrangements such as Triads, Complimentary Colors, and Split Complementary arrangements we will explore how less is more when it comes to color harmony.
With limited colors to a specific palette, the artist can expand their artistic expression and arrive at new color combinations. From brilliance to beautiful grays, all in harmony this color planning brings success to your color.
This type of exploration expands your color knowledge and is so much fun!
Each week Rose will do a short demo of a limited palette painting with a specific color arrangement, sharing her process of choosing just 5 colors, organizing her palette, and mixing, along with pigment properties.
Students will be supplied with a PDF hand-out of the palette used for that week’s Color Theory along with landscape and or seascape photo references to use for that week’s lesson. Or students can use their own photo references.
Class time will be a combination of lecture, demo, and practice (so bring your gear!), and be ready to paint!
