Rick Fox is a painter who is fascinated by perception and the challenge and complexity of the translation of the “world” to a surface. He lives in southern Maine and has been seduced by color and at the moment his primary practice is plein air painting. Rick is currently represented by Gallery NAGA, Boston, and JP Art Gallery, London.  In 2019 Rick was a Ballinglen Artist Foundation Painting Fellow. And in 2018 he was awarded two residencies: Playa Artist Residency (Summerlake, Oregon) and 2nd Annual International Plein Air Symposium, sponsored by the Mark Rothko Center (Semenova, Latvia).  Rick has been teaching painting and drawing full-time at the University of New Hampshire since 2010.
