Impressionism continues to be one of the most celebrated and popular art movements of the recent past. During this fascinating talk and demonstration, award-winning British artist Peter Keegan will explain how and why artists such as Monet, Sisley, Pisarro, Renoir and others created their unique work, revealing the secrets of their approach, their colour mixing and brush work, whilst demonstrating a landscape painting in their style.

Peter Keegan is a professional artist living and working in Buckinghamshire, UK, specialising in oil painting. Trained at Cardiff School of Art, Peter follows traditional techniques but uses them in a way to depict his subjects in a modern and original style. His aim in portraiture is to always create a painting or drawing that reflects the subject’s likeness and personality. Peter also paints and exhibits figure paintings, local landscapes and still life paintings.  Peter co-hosts the weekly podcast Ask an Artist: the podcast dedicated to offering free advice and guidance about the business side of being an artist. He is an elected member of the Buckinghamshire Art Society and The Oxford Art Society.  Peter is also a brand ambassador for Michael Harding Oil Paints and Rosemary & Co brushes. peterkeegan.com
