Develop your painting skills as you learn to capture the personality of your favorite cats and dogs in this two-session online class with award-winning artist Patty Voje. Working alla prima in oils, you’ll discover how to start with a strong underpainting to establish values, mix vibrant colors that bring life to fur, and use confident brushwork for expressive edges and textures. We’ll cover painting soulful eyes, lively whiskers, and that spark of character that makes your pet unique.
Along the way, Patty will share tips for looser, painterly strokes and exercises to help you develop confident brushwork. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced painter, you’ll walk away with the skills to create an engaging animal portrait, just in time for holiday gift giving! Each session will include demonstrations, discussions on materials, techniques and best practices. Patty will provide feedback on assignments, answer questions and inspire you to grow as an artist. All levels welcome.
