Patrick Lee takes a unique creative approach to painting.  He draws heavily on intuition and imagination to develop an image, often altering the drawing, color, and spatial relationships in his work to create a mood and express a feeling about his subject. In this 4-week class, Patrick will share the processes and techniques that he uses in his own paintings. Participants will be encouraged to question and experiment as a way of clarifying their vision and purpose, from  initial painting concepts to painting completion. Focus will be on considering ideas, implications and observations of both initial and work-in-progress.

Patrick Lee grew up in Western Pennsylvania and attended Edinboro University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Painting with an Art History minor. Lee works primarily in oils, charcoal, and watercolor (gouache). His chosen subject matter generally ranges from figurative works and landscapes to still-life and interiors.

Lee has participated in many group and solo exhibitions, including Plein Air painting events like Plein Air Easton and Wayne Plein Air and have been an adjunct professor of art at Allegheny Community College for the past several years.
