Medium: Acrylics or Oil (demos are done using acrylics). You could apply this class to any paint medium (just make sure you adapt the supplies/homework to your medium)

Why daily painting? Because the more we paint, the better we become at painting! With this class I’ll help you form the wonderful habit of painting most days, uniquely tailored for you by you, with my help! We have different needs, routines and responsibilities, but we can all form this habit if we have the right tools, feel accountable and commit to make it happen.

This class will offer:

  • The four pillars needed to form the habit of daily painting.
  • The right motivation, practical ideas, and tips on how some master painters do it.
  • Painting exercises that’ll help you create the habit of showing up at your easel.
  • Accountability: A group of like-minded people with the common goal of creating this happy habit, and my support (M – F) on a private group page during the weeks we’ll be together.

Born and raised in Venezuela, Mónica Linares was always surrounded by paint and brushes thanks to an artist father. With a background in advertising, she was permanently in contact with design, color, and style, but it was not until 1999 that she formally started her formation as a painter at the Pittsburgh Center for the Arts. In 2011 she founded Painting Miles, an arts organization that promotes artist growth by exposing them to instruction by well known painters from around the world.

Mónica has a graphic style and many have called her a colorist. She aims for simplicity, interesting design, and strong brushwork. Most of her work can be found at The North Carolina Museum of Art store. She lives in Apex NC with her husband and kids.

About Our Online Classes:

  • This class is taught live via Zoom. To take this class, you need a microphone and camera enabled computer OR an iPad /smart tablet OR a smart phone (android or IOS) and a strong internet connection.
  • You will have access to a private class message board on our website where you can share work, comment and ask questions. (Exact use of the message board, critique of student work and general class format is at the discretion of the instructor, please check course description for details.)
  • Class will be recorded and recordings expire 60 days after the final day of the course.
  • Participants will receive an email with the Zoom link and class details 5-7 days before the class starts (don’t forget to check your junk folder).
