Learn how to use a journal or sketchbook to record your trips and adventures outdoors. You’ll see how you can work both outdoors and back in your studio, using sketches and photos. Week 1 will focus on vignettes and smaller entries, perfect for beginners and for artists who want to quickly record.  Week 2 we’ll work on larger landscapes, with some skill building around specific elements like trees, mountains and water.

Molly Hashimoto is the author of Colors of the West: An Artist’s Guide to Nature’s Colors and Birds of the West: An Artist’s Guide.  Her upcoming book, Mt. Rainier: An Artist’s Tour will be released September 1, 2021. (All are published by Mountaineers Books).  She has exhibited widely and teaches for many outdoor institutes, including Yellowstone and North Cascades.  Her block prints are best sellers for Pomegranate Communications, published as calendars, notecards and children’s books (authored by Zoe Burke.)  Teaching and connecting students with nature and cultural history through art experiences are an important part of her artistic journey. www.mollyhashimoto.com
