Discover the art of slowing down In this four-week class with award-winning artist Michael Weller. Students will paint from their own still-life setups, working at a relaxed pace that encourages exploration and personal style. With a small group size, there’s plenty of opportunity for individual guidance and quiet one-on-one conversations. Throughout each session, Michael will demonstrate key techniques and share his own approach to painting.
Michael Weller emphasizes simplifying shapes and colors, considering composition, mixing harmonious colors, and experimenting with paint thickness. The goal is not to paint like him, but to find your own unique voice and style.
Expect to create quick studies on scraps of paper or card as you try out techniques that Michael finds useful in his own work. There’s no rush—just slow down, enjoy the process, and have fun with the paint.
