From bold strokes to delicate glazes, pastel offers techniques to suit every artist.  Using clouds as our subject matter, we will focus on expanding our toolbox of surface manipulation strategies including underpainting, application and removal techniques, mark making, edge quality, and scumbling versus glazing.  Students are encouraged to experiment and share their results.  Demos will feature four or more popular pastel papers to showcase specific surface effects.
