Challenge yourself to dig deeper and further develop your work. Gain more experience and confidence through further exploration in your oil painting practice.

• Discussions on composition, planning, and editing to “build” a painting.
• Experiment with additional techniques to add texture, unique mark-making and layering to your paintings.
• Further explore how to create special effects with Galkyd, Galkyd Gel and Neo Megilp.
• Instructor demonstrations each week. Demos and examples will have a landscape focus. Experienced artists can translate these ideas and techniques to the focus of your own nature-based work.
• Group critique sessions each week.

This workshop is for the student who has experience in oil painting with cold wax medium. You do not need to have taken Mark’s previous online workshop, however students will benefit from having previous workshop participation with Mark or experience in oil painting with cold wax medium.

Mark Russell has been creating landscape and nature paintings for more than 30 years. He has exhibited his work in group shows, in galleries and museums across the country and won numerous awards. His paintings are included in private and corporate collections. He has degrees from DePaul University and The American Academy of Art in Chicago.
