Please note, the Technique Takeaways are non-refundable. If you are unable to attend live, you will have access to the recording for 30 days.
Discover specific art techniques that you can ‘take away’ from some of your favorite artists and apply to your own work. Each one and a half hour presentation will showcase a different process that each of these artists incorporates in their daily art practice. Instruction will be through a combination of lecture and demonstration by the artists.
Our Technique Takeaways are presented live via Zoom. Participants will have the opportunity to interact with the instructor via the Zoom chat box and will have access to the recorded session for 30 days. You will receive a Zoom meeting link and passcode the day before the talk. To take part, you will need a camera enabled computer OR an IPad/smart tablet OR a smart phone (android or IOS) and a strong internet connection.
Collage is an easy way to create mixed media artwork just about anywhere, even if you only have a glue stick and an old magazine. Join me as I share my process on creating a series of collages and experimenting with negative space, shapes, textures, pattern and line work. I will also share some of collage exercises to spark your creativity and I will walk you through my set up for taking pictures of my work and how I create a little story around it. Bonus: I will giveaway one of my collage at the end of the class and UPPERCASE Magazine is giving away a one-year subscription to one lucky student! It’s a technique takeaway AND giveaway!
