In this workshop we use landscape as a vehicle to delve into all the elements of color and composition that lead to a dynamic painting. Part of our focus will be on the process of painting itself…how to mix interesting, clean color combinations and how to apply paint effectively to create exciting paintings. We will discuss some of the roadblocks you might be facing as a painter and how to develop your skill so that you can really excel at your craft. Bring your courage and creativity and anything is possible.

Liz Prescott received a BFA in painting from Maine College of Art and and MFA in Visual Arts from Vermont College of Norwich University.  Her work is included in the permanent collections at the Portland Musueum of Art, Colby College, Bowdoin College, New York Public Library, and the University of New England.  She is a member of the Union of Maine Visual Artists (Portland Chapter) and a founding member of Meetinghouse Arts Gallery in Freeport, ME where she remains an active gallery committee member.  She leads plein air workshops at many beautiful spots including Monhegan Island, ME and the Schoodic Peninsula in Acadia National Park.
