In this 3-session workshop, participants will translate a historical image using a limited palette to emphasize and invent the temperature of light and shadow. In our first session we will create a drawing template that analyses shape and composition, while mapping-out planar shifts. In sessions 2 and 3 we will create paintings that express both warm light/ cool shadows, and cool light/ warm shadows. This process offers foundational tools for the artist to create intentional and poetic images.
