Kimberly Trowbridge is a visual artist and educator who combines painting, sculpture, language, performance, and site-specific research. She has taught visual concepts in painting and drawing for nearly 20 years and is the Director of the Modern Color Atelier, a multi-year painting program through Gage Academy of Art, Seattle. In 2018-2020, Kimberly was Creative Fellow at Bloedel Reserve, a 150-acre garden amid an old growth forest in the Pacific Northwest. Her first solo museum exhibition, Into the Garden, at Bainbridge Island Museum of Art (2021), showcased a selection of 42 paintings installed as a narrative walk-through, revealing the themes and insights from her time on the field. A published catalog accompanied the exhibition. In 2021, Trowbridge completed a 30-foot, 3-dimensional mural as part of the Facebook Open Arts Commission. The installation highlights the flora and fauna of the PNW within a pedagogical context of color and shape.

Trowbridge has exhibited her work in numerous galleries both regionally and nationally, and her work is part of numerous private and public collections, including the Microsoft Collection and the King County Public Art Collection. She is a two-time Neddy Award Finalist (2014, 2016), a Gallery4Culture awardee for her exhibition Framing Perception (2015), and an Artist Trust GAP Grant recipient (2014). She has led field-painting tours in Spain, Portugal, Twisp, WA, and Tieton, WA.

Trowbridge is represented by J. Rinehart Gallery, in Seattle, WA.
