Learn how to create unique and personalized collages using family photos with a focus on the art of collage making, specifically through the use of intervened family photos. Students will learn how to incorporate multiple images into a single artwork, as well as how to manipulate and alter the photos to create a cohesive visual story.
The course is structured around a series of projects that build upon one another, starting with basic techniques and progressing to more advanced methods. Students will learn about composition, color theory, and design principles, as well as techniques for cutting, tearing, and layering photos.
In addition to technical skills, the workshop also emphasizes the importance of personal narrative and storytelling. Students will be encouraged to explore their family histories and use their own experiences and memories as inspiration for their collages.
Throughout the course, students will receive guidance and feedback and have the opportunity to share their work with the class and receive constructive criticism. By the end of the workshop, students will have a collection of unique and meaningful collages that celebrate their family histories and personal narratives.
