Supply List

Kathleen enjoys painting little gems found in or around her home in gouache, so much that she wants to share with you how you can do this also. Since gouache is such a versatile medium with little mess, making it easy to set up and clean up, painting inside your home, on a porch or in a garden is indeed suitable.  In this class you will be right alongside Kathleen as she shows you how she sets up her plein air easel, with all of her gouache equipment and paints, shares what attracts her to that special scene, and describes and shares with you her composition, values and colors.  Each week she will paint from a different spot, including inside her home, outside in her garden or porch, and from a photo in her studio, allowing you to learn a variety of ways to use gouache in your own accommodations.  In weeks 2 and 3 there will be critiques of your homework done that previous week.  These delightful paintings of your scenes can be kept as a personal treasure, given as a special gift, or sold in shows and galleries.

If you need assistance with how to use gouache Kathleen offers a Technique Takeaway on December 13, “Exploring Gouache, All You Need to Get Started” where she shares everything to help you get familiar with your gouache medium.

All levels may attend but being familiar with how to use gouache is helpful.

Kathleen’s love of art began with lessons at the age of four, and graduated from University of Miami, with a BFA degree in Graphic Design, while continuing to passionately study, paint en plein air and studio, teach, and win awards.

Her art is licensed by leading manufacturers worldwide and found on numerous home décor and gift products, found at stores such as HomeGoods and Bed, Bath & Beyond. Her original paintings are acquired in galleries, exhibits and plein air events.
