Supply List

This two-part workshop celebrates the quiet beauty and mystery of winter through the rich, textural possibilities of oil and cold wax. Over two sessions, students will create one finished painting inspired by the season—think shimmering snow fields, frosted branches, misty mornings, and the subtle colors of reflected light.

We’ll begin with playful exercises in color mixing and mark-making to evoke the cool palette and atmospheric tones of winter. Students will explore layering, scraping, and blending techniques to build depth and luminosity, incorporating tools such as brayers, scrapers, and stencils.

By the second class, participants will refine their compositions and add finishing touches—creating a piece that captures the stillness, texture, and glow of the season.

No prior experience required; all levels welcome. Bring your curiosity and a sense of wonder for the natural world.
