John Seed – Richard Diebenkorn: Painting with Doubt (Recording) – Free!

Date recorded: Mondays, December 13, 2021

Join art writer John Seed for an overview of the art of Richard Diebenkorn. Seed will discuss the artist’s evolution over time and explain how Diebenkorn’s healthy skepticism about his own abilities resulted in art that kept moving forward. Expect a 45-minute talk to be followed by a Q & A session.

John Seed is a Professor Emeritus of Art and Art History at Mount San Jacinto College, where he taught “Introduction to Modernism” for over 30 years before retiring from full-time teaching in 2017. Seed’s views were influenced by the book and video series “Shock of the New,” by Robert Hughes, which served as the textbook for the course.
