Working directly from arranged objects, you’ll learn how to compose and paint your own compelling still-life by recognizing and translating values, simplifying detail and shapes, color mixing with a limited palette and applying paint to achieve desired effects!

An award-winning artist, Janet Pedersen exhibits her work widely. Recently, several of her dance-themed paintings were chosen to be part of the State Department’s ‘Art in Embassies’ program, celebrating the universal joy and borderless beauty of dance. The exhibition will be on loan for three years at the Residency of the U.S. Ambassador to Poland, Mark Brzekinski. She teaches ongoing adult workshops through The Art Annex in Park Slope, Brooklyn, as well as private tutoring. She lives in the neighborhood of Park Slope in Brooklyn, NY, next to Prospect Park where she can often be found painting.
