A city block, a wooded landscape, an interior setting; How does one find their way to a cohesive composition? When I begin a painting, I’m always looking for that certain ‘beat’ that sets me on my way…a pattern or rhythm that leads my eye to create the composition that I make. Recognizing patterns, no matter how simple or intricate—can help organize the eye, to direct your mark making and build interest and intrigue. However the repeated shape reveals itself, THIS can be the soundtrack to your painting.

Come join me in this exploration! I will share prerecorded painting videos and plenty of reference for inspiration. All mediums accepted. I will be working in acrylic and gouache. This class does not have a supply list.
