Ever taken a photo or observed a certain scene or setting and thought; this would be a great painting. A dancing figure, the stride of a walker on the street, a certain glance… expressing that idea—or gesture— will be the focus of this workshop. Whether your subject is figurative or not, this workshop will cover techniques to build your compositions—finding movement in angles, pattern, subject shifts, light and shadow. In the end hopefully your painting will reflect— through movement and gesture— the very thing that originally inspired you.
Janet will share her figurative paintings—many dance-themed, and where she finds inspiration for her subjects.
