Bring your past into the present as you interpret images of your family and ancestors through contemporary eyes.
You’ll learn how to transcend the snapshot and create a work that has both artistic merit and personal meaning.
We’ll focus on:
- developing a clear concept for each image
- editing and composing the elements of the photo into a dynamic and effective whole
- generating colour schemes for black and white photos or color-degraded photos
- exploring brushwork and paint application
- simplifying features and figures
Working on several different images in this workshop will help you become comfortable and fluent in tackling photo references in the future.
