Just in time for summer’s bounty, this class will teach you how to paint a variety of flower shapes and colors.
You’ll create loose and lively florals using both a wet-in-wet, alla prima approach and a wet-on-dry, layered method. Each week, you will make several studies that explore different floral shapes and aspects of floral painting. As well you’ll add new layers to an ongoing, multi-layered project that examines the effect of optical mixing. We’ll also tackle foliage, vases and composition with an emphasis on stripping each element to its essentials for greater drama and clarity.
Ingrid will post her reference photos to the class feed prior to each class, including the first class. You may use these references or choose your own, similar set ups or photo references.
